Nike Advert

The denotation of this advert is a boy with a football; the connotation is a young teenage boy who is in his estate playing football, looks quite independent.

The red colours have synergy with font, as it represents blood and gore which is linked with the historic font used for the copy. The black and white background highlights how the boy in colour is the most important factor of the advert. The lighting in the image is quite dull and dark, this is done to emphasise the main character that is in colour rather than black and white like the rest of the edited image. This suggests that wearing products by Nike make you as an individual stand out from the crowd, which would appeal to the audience and make them want to consume the product.

The font is very urban like the picture itself, and the tag line is very large so it stands out. The font in large 'who rules?' looks as if it has been written as graffiti; the background is also set in some type of estate, so the font suits the whole image in itself.

This is a long shot that promotes Nike, The lines from the sky are all pointing towards the focal point which is the boy playing football as the rest of the background isn't significant, and he is in colour maybe to show how football brings vibrancy in his life, and the contrast of the background and the boy could show escapism from his community.

The product is aimed mostly towards a male audience who live an urban lifestyle as the background looks very dark and gritty, from a female’s perspective this advert wouldn't be very appealing as the colours are very dull, even though there are some bright colours used such as red and yellow. Also there is a male who is playing football in the advert, which is the focal point of the image, and football is typically dominated by males, so this advert would generally attract young teenage boys.

50 Cent Advert Analysis

This is 50 cents advertisement of Reebok. The colours used in this advert are quite dull and dark, this could be him reflecting on the past and his history as it hasn't been good for him but there's a light/shadow reflecting on the areas of his face but isn't that clear. The advert is split in half of 2 different things, the left side of the advert is a imagine of a medium close up shot of 50 cents face and the other has one of his quotes but in the background it had a police note with 50 cents finger prints on it which shows that he could be a criminal and he is in the police records. the imagine that is the close up shot mainly focuses the seriousness of his facial expressionsThe size of the image takes up 50% of the print which suggests that the face of the advert is as important as the text. In the image the largest text that says 'i am what i am' which also relates to the image of 50 cent as it connotates the fact that he is proud of who he is and is comfortable with his past. in the smaller text it states 'take advantage of today because tomorrow is not promised.' this also relates to 50 cent as he has been shot over 10 times. the typography of the poster has the feeling of medieval times. This perhaps suggest that the history he has had of going to jail, and being a criminal will always be part of him, but that doesn't mean he can't change.

Media Consumption

Newspapers
I usually read through 'The sun' on weekends in the mornings. normally I go through the main headline story inside the newspaper, the horoscope or the major news on celebrities. I go through all the pages in the news paper just in case something interesting catches my eye. I also enjoy reading real life stories or articles related to someone missing or a murder case, it makes it more moving when I read them. My mum usually buys the sun for me or I buy it myself.
Magazines
The magazine I regularly buy is the 'what's on TV' it is because it is a well known magazine because it gives information about all the latest soaps and gossip on what's going to happen next and as I am a soap addict I love to find out what's going to happen next. I usually read the pages about what soaps I watch e.g. Eastenders and hollyoaks but programmes I don't watch is that I don't read about.
Television

I think I watch about 15 hours a week of television sometimes more if I don't do anything on weekends because I don't watch tv on weekends. I usually watch tv at 6:30 onwards when my programmes usually start. I mainly watch the reality tv show 'keeping up with the kardashians' I have a secret obsession with the kardashian sisters so I love watching their tv show. I normally watch tv alone but if my sisters there she would watch it with me and my cousin sister. If I watch my tv soaps, my mum and aunties watch it with us aswell because once I have it on everyone else gets interested in it too.
Radio

The main radio stations I listen to is 'kiss100, capital and choice FM' I think these radio stations are better than others because they have all the latest songs on and don't have much news in it as I find if the news is on too long it's quiet boring. I think I spend about 6-7 hours a week listening to the radio only because when I'm in the car it's always on otherwise I don't listen to the radio else where. I listen to the radio when I go to school and when I come back and in the evenings if we go out and it's on in the car. Channels I dislike would be 'radio 1 or heart' they don't have any good music I would listen too and 'radio one' is more of an news channel instead of music so I find that quite boring whilst being in the car. I listen to the radio with whoever is in the car with me (whoevers driving) I only ever listen to the radio in the car if we're going somewhere or in my front drive way washing/cleaning the car I would have the radio on.
Cinema

This month in cinema I've seen 'the inbetweeners 2' movie. Apart from going to the cinema I watch movies on sky movies or online sites like Netflix etc.. I love watch my horror movies and comedy so I saw 22 jump street and conjuring in cinema but on sky movies I watched 'dispicable me 2.
Internet

I access the Internet quite a lot because it comes in handy in my everyday life so it's easy to access it on my iPhone. I access it everywhere, at home, on the bus, at school etc. main sites would be on 'google' I would search up 'tfl' to find out when my bus will arrive which comes quite handy and 'youtube' if I want to listen to music, I'm always on 'Instagram, what's app, snapchat and Facetiming' people which is a way I could contact people and speak to them and could be for entertainment.

Film Poster Analysis

This poster shows a hint of Si-Fi immediately because of the light behind the male at the back; also the tall building looks science fiction as well as the font of the title. It relates to 'Back to the future'' theme which links to science fiction in the early 1980's. The gun in the males hand at the top suggests there will be violence in this movie and the woman smoking suggests there might be prostitution in it as well.

In this poster the tag line immediately suggests that this is a comedy. There is a black male in the middle with his head open and full of popcorn which relates to the black guy dying first and the woman on the right side has a shirt on that says ''I love dead people'' this relates to the movie warm bodies and is turning the horror into comedy.

I think this film is about a lonely character, I can interpret that from the tittle. The word ''Uzak'' means Distant in Turkish. Also the scenery of snow surrounding a man is more likely to be sad or upsetting. The colour of the clouds set more of a negative mood for the audience and the man standing in the middle immediately suggests that this film includes a sad story which mainly involves him.

This poster has very interesting props of mise-en-scene in it. The facial expressions of all the characters immediately show the genre of the film as well as the guns shown in their hands. The characters at the front of the movie poster are together so this might suggest that they are a team together. The main male is shown to be looking down at the white light who can be their enemy.

The main image of the poster shows a child looking into a hole. The tittle might suggest that this child is seeing what is inside this hole but is scared at the same time. The title of this film suggests that this film will be mystery/thriller also the facial expressions of the child show that he wants to find out what is inside of what he's looking at.

This film poster looks older fashioned because of the green/brown tea bag background colour, also the dressing of the characters shows that it is set in the older times. The gun in one of the males’ hands shows that there will be violence in this film and woman in the poster shows that she will be involved in these violent incidents.

In this poster the male and the female in the middle immediately suggest that this film will be about them and the people celebrating in the back shows that this film is a romantic-comedy. The couple in the middle are smiling, this shows the audience that they won’t be facing any negative situations and will stay happy throughout the film. The two different groups of ethnicities in the back shows the contrast between them and how their families will be different to each other and might find it hard to accept that about each other.

In this poster I can see shadows of two men in the back who seem to be focused on something but have a contrast in what they are feeling. The woman who is back is visible in the poster indicates some sort of violence because of the back muscle and suggests that she is involved with the 'million dollar baby'. The darkness around the characters shows that this film has drama and the sports bra shows that this woman will have an involvement in sports.

Aspects of Film Language

In this film poster I can see a number of props that suggest this film has violence and action in it. The classic prop used is the gun in the woman's hand, this also suggests that this film is set in modern times because you wouldn't see a woman with a gun in the 1990's or earlier on. In addition the lighting off the poster suggests darkness and evil. The lighting around the woman walking out off the door suggests she is someone important but we don't know who she is because off the brightness of the back light. The shadows behind all the characters suggest a little bit of danger and suggests that these characters have some type of power throughout the film. The tagline of this film shows that there will be a lot of violence in the film relating to the word ''sin''.
